There seems to be very poor advocacy on the need for scanning the DRUK TRACE QR Code recently issued by the government. It does not seem like people have really grasped just how CRITICAL and IMPORTANT it is to scan the QR Code, whenever they see one. It could be the difference between life and death.
I have been distributing few hardcopy prints of the QR Code and telling everyone at the establishments that they MUST get the people to scan before they enter the establishments. But I notice that not many are doing so.
Bhutan is now at a critical juncture - because we have released people who were in quarantine - despite the Health Ministry's very best efforts, we cannot rule out asymptomatic cases.
Whoever is responsible for the distribution of the prints of these Codes needs to make people understand how useful it is to scan the QR Code. Perhaps the government could consider recruiting people to go door-to-door to advocate this … perhaps even seek the help of RBP to do advocacy work.
One problem I notice is that the print outs of the Code is too small for people to notice – we need to make it bigger and more colorful so that people take notice.
